Catalina Install Stuck at PCI Configration Begin - Acer 515-54g

Hi,
I am trying to install Catalina 10.15 on acer laptop Acer Aispire A515-54G, 8GB Ram, 512GB SSD, Core i5 8th Gen. 2GB NVIDIA Geforce MX250.

I used boot args cpus=1 -v npci=0x2000 its always stuck at PCI configration Begin.

A guide in setting up your USB installer using OpenCore,

To start:
A USB stick / flash drive or whatever you want to call them, USB2.0 16GB is preferred, possibly a USB3.0 *may* work. Sandisk makes a good USB installer, no I don’t have shares in them, they just seem to work well.

Kexts Required
These are just going to be the basic kexts to get your machine up and running, you can add your audio and any other kexts after installation

Because a few users ask if audio is possible with this codec, especially for the GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 mainboard, here some solutions:

Below, a fully patched kext that gives you the default outputs. For headphones and front microphone you can use the attached switcher. Other layouts are also possible.
Why a fully patched kext? because i think it is the easiest way to make audio working. The Gigabyte Gaming 7 users, without a patched DSDT need only the HDAS to HDEF clover-patch.

[UPDATE] 31 Jul 2020
- Replaced aptiomemory fix with OcQuirks
- Added experimental BigSur support, currently it is able to boot a preinstalled BigSur but not the installer.
- Updated VirtualBiosMod and CleanNvram
- Updated all kexts and efi drivers
- Please download latest EFI.zip from github

USB does not boot

Using system that already has a successful build of Sierra, I downloaded Unibeast and created a USB boot disk. Dragged Multibeast on to it. Shut down the computer and swapped out SSD hard drive to get a clean install and the computer does not see the USB as a boot device.

Gigabyte Z97 mb with BIOS updated to F6 and options double checked
Pressing F12 does not even show the USB drive, just the empty Samsung SSD
Built the USB three times
Maybe BIOS not recognizing the USB?

Crackling audio under Catalina

Is anyone else experiencing crackling audio? It seems to happen when switching windows and scrolling. It also seems to get progressively worse. Its usually fine for a while and then starts happening. It manifests in a small crackle with my built in sound. My Apogee Quartet gets so bad that its barely usable. I am using AppleALC.kext. Also yes, I know its a beta. I'm not complaining, just seeing if anyone else is experiencing this.

I know many don't use this case for much given it's a sod but I decided to use it for my FreeNAS. It only cost me £30 complete.



Took it all apart.



Bought a donor.



Things needed for the modding.

Extra PSU (one for the board etc and the other for the drives)

Hi everyone!
Several days ago, I used the configuration here (https://github.com/daliansky/XPS15-7590-Hackintosh) and got a working hackintosh on my XPS 15 7590.

Although the internal speakers works quite well, when I plug my headphone into the headphone jack, the hackintosh system does not recognize my headphone (On Sound-Output, there is only 1 built-in "Internal Speakers" available).
From the configuration link above, I found that the soundcard of my laptop is Realtek...

Help With Sleep "ACPI: sleep states S4 S5" - Surface Pro 4, 10.15.5

Hi all, I've got my Surface Pro 4 (i5) up and running with 10.15.5 (OC 0.6) and everything works perfectly fine with the exception of sleep.

Invoking sleep via apple menu appears to work fine, i.e. the display turns off, playback pauses on any media, etc. however the machine does not actually go to sleep. "Sleep"/wake works with the lid as well, but in either case the machine doesn't actually go to sleep.

Comparing pmset -g log to my other hackintosh laptop that has sleep/wake...

I produced a bunch of custom config and I'm hoping to finish the effort of getting Catalina loaded on this Yoga. I see a Nvme channelnotfound i2CChannel error and get a garbled screen. I will appreciate if someone is able to show further light!

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to check if i can build a hackintosh with the below specs.

HP Proliant ML 110 G6
Intel Xeon X3430 @2.40GHZ
16gb Ram
Graphics : Nvidia GeForce 210
SSD Kingston Q500

This is a legacy bios. i have been trying to install Mojave and Catalina using Clover legacy build and Opencore. i have been unsuccessful.

It just shows me a blank screen and goes to the boot manager.

Considering i haven't finished the OpenCore Bootloader guide yet, due to the big number of request for a OpenCore guide, here is the Open Core guide which is much more stable and faster than Clover, i have been using the OpenCore Bootloader since v0.0.2 and it has been my GO 2 bootloader on all my hackintosh hardware since that time...

USB Ports Not Working Properly

I'm running Catalina 10.15.6 and am running into a behavior that I have not previously experienced. My USB ports will recognize and work properly with: keyboards, mice & trackpads, wifi and bluetooth adapters; however, when I plug a USB Hard Drive or Thumb Drive in, nothing happens. The system doesn't seem to recognize that a device has been plugged in. The Hard Drive, SSD or Thumb Drive do not mount or appear in Disk Utility. I am using USBInjectAll.kext.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

After 5 days of intense labour I managed to get my first hackintosh up and running. Hurray!

But WIFI is not working and I've been trying to fix it for about 14 days already and I'm out of options now, I've tried everything I could find but I guess I'm lacking knowledge and experience and it might be something simple to fix.

I've replaced the original Intel WIFI CNVi card for a Broadcom BCM94360NG which was supposed to work out of the box. Well, it didn't.

My setup:

I have been trying for a couple of days to get this up and running with Catalina.

So far have tried Unibeast and Opencore. I have tried using every Z490 EFI that I can find in this site and attempting to boot. ( I installed Catalina onto a NVMe from my real Mac mini 2014. I have always found this easier and had less trouble using Clover to get machines to boot.)

Unibeast stops at the +++++++++++++++ . I have fooled with just about every combo of settings in clover and have tried...

it not only means ASUS X299 motherboards but also other brands such as GIGABYTE , ASROCK, EVGA, MSI (...)
