To Kraken or Not To Kraken?

So my new build is using the stock intel cooler (i7 10700) for now. I could not decide which cooler to buy when I ordered everything... I do like the look of the NZXT Kraken line. But my price point would be on their lower end. Maybe the X53 ($130).

Dose it do a good job or is my money better spent elsewhere? (air or liquid)

Other coolers I am considering from $40 to $80:
1. Noctua NH-U12S chromax Black, 120mm Single-Tower CPU Cooler
2. Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition CPU Air Cooler...

Voodoo PS/2 for Elan, Elantech touchpad

If you are a user of elan ps/2 touchpad, you know support for it is pretty limited in Hackintosh. There is SmartPS2Touchpad kext, which is buggy and works unreliable or VoodooPS2 kext, which only supports relative mode (mouse emulation) which means no multitouch.

I have written the kext - elan touchpad integration for VoodooPS2 kext.

Why this is not in VoodooPS2?
Because the kext has to be tested. It works well...

Want to build a dual boot machine

Greetings! I would like to build a machine that can dual-boot both Windows and macOS. I would like to use MacOS the majority of the time, and use Windows when required (e.g.: gaming). Would like to have a "golden build". What components would I need to make it run all services in MacOS? I really like the K39 case and the Metalfish S3 or something equivalent in size (velka?). For gaming, I am not looking to play games in ultra-high end settings, just something decent to run latest games...

Hello everyone,

As some of you know, I have been lurking around to make the new X299X boards (Gigabyte) work, unsuccessful at it, but trying nevertheless.

On the hardware side these are the specs of the build:

Gigabyte Designare EX 10G
Intel i9 10900X
128GB DDR4 3200 Mhz Crucial Ballistix
1200W BeQuiet! PurePower
PNY 500GB NVMe
And other bits, but the important is here.

Trials have been made with Clover v5100 and Catalina 10.15.2 previously installed, the reason because I have...

Dell Optiplex 9020 SFF Catalina wake up screen flickering

Hi All,

My new hackintosh build's screen got flickering on eGPU right after waking up from sleep.
Here are my machine's details:
1. Dell Optiplex 9020 SFF
2. i7-4790S
3. 32GB RAM
4. AMD Radeon WX 4100
5. Archer T9E WiFi adapter

The eGPU works perfectly on a Optiplex 7010 SSF build.
It is very strange that the flickering disappears if I plug another monitor into iGPU's displayport.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
Any hint for debugging this issue would also be appreciated.

Thank you.

Lenovo ThinkPad T440P using OpenCore (0.5.9)

Considering i haven't finished the OpenCore Bootloader guide yet, due to the big number of request for a OpenCore guide, here is the Open Core guide which is much more stable and faster than Clover, i have been using the OpenCore Bootloader since v0.0.2 and it has been my GO 2 bootloader on all my hackintosh hardware since that time...

Hi, I’m trying to get my hackintosh working on my computer. I made a Sierra Hackintosh USB with UniBeast choosing “Legacy”, and “Inject ATI”.

My computer specs are as follows:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00GHz
8GB DDR2 RAM
256GB SSD (completely empty)
AMD Radeon R7 240 GPU
PCI Wireless card (I checked, it works with OSX)
The computer itself is an HP Compaq DC7900 SFF

I boot the USB, choose Sierra in Clover, w/out verbose the loading line gets 2/3rds of the way through before...

Hey guys, following the great guide and the EFI folder provided by @4mit in his discussion (https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-lenovo-ideapad-s340-laptop-on-catalina.288003/) me and several other people were able to install correctly Catalina on our machine, with almost everything working. Unfortunately for some of us, randomly, the trackpad isn't working. For someone else instead is working. And that seems to happen randomly and we can't figure out the...

I recently updated my hardware and also went from Clover to OpenCore in the process - this was not a fresh installation. There are other successful builds on Z490M, but perhaps this is useful to some! I have been running it a few weeks and haven't had any issues.

Attached my complete EFI-folder and the config.plist separately

Hi there!

I want to show my monitor stand mod. It’s basically a Dell display on an iMac base.
I read a lot of case mod posts in this forum (G4, G5, Mac Mini, Custom cases etc..) but hard to find display mods. I decided to make one because it’s very easy to do at home, no special tools are required. You can...
