Hi guys.
I am writing to you since i have hit a wall and have run out of threads that cover simular setups.
I am running of a SSD disk that was installed in my previous hackintosh (catalina) where i just built a new efi and i am running the latest OC (0.6.5) currently.
The machine is booting nicely and everything is working apart from Intel bluetooth, but intel wifi is working via kext files. I am using a iMac 20,1 system definition. My NVRAM is working fine also. Although i have not been...

This thread is meant to be support/discussion for X299 motherboards :
it not only means ASUS X299 motherboards but also other brands such as GIGABYTE , ASROCK, EVGA, MSI (...)
The goal is to keep the support for these motherboards alive, publish updates, configurations, hardware, and so on.
It is the continuation of the previous threads.
All the support will be added and linked on my GitHub repo.
So today with macOS Big Sur we're going to start a new forward-looking experience...

I was observing opencore and Big Sur developments for a month. With 11.1 release imminent, dived into it on weekend.
1 My current setup of Catalina 10.15.7 and Clover r5122 was running smoothly. Wanted to try opencore/Big Sur without disturbing it.
So, decided to do a fresh install on a spare ssd drive.
2. After going thru dortania install guide, created a EFI folder with required ACPI, kexts, drivers and config file.
3. Downloaded 11.1 and made a bootable installer and copied the...

Hello, guys!
// Comment:
If you need any help, just post your native DSDT along with an existing rehabman patch, if it exists. Otherwise, I'll try to patch it from scratch. If you want me to implement it properly, post your EFI folder aswell.
I will help as many people as possible!
My solution was:

Lenovo ThinkPad T440P using OpenCore (0.5.9)
Considering i haven't finished the OpenCore Bootloader guide yet, due to the big number of request for a OpenCore guide, here is the Open Core guide which is much more stable and faster than Clover, i have been using the OpenCore Bootloader since v0.0.2 and it has been my GO 2 bootloader on all my hackintosh hardware since that time...

I am running Big Sur 11.0.1 using OpenCore 0.6.3. Using Carbon Copy Cloner, I back up my macOS boot disk (named Macintosh SSD) to three separate disks, which are all APFS formatted, bootable and named:
- Daily M2 macOS Backup (internal M2)
- Daily Backup (internal SSD)
- Weekly Backup (external USB)
The problem is that in the OpenCore boot picker screen, here is what I see:
As you can see...

Hi all...apologies in advance, I'm new to posting in the forum, but have been a follower for the last 5 years or so.
Long story short, I had to reinstall Mojave on my Hackintosh due to a hard drive failure. Got it reinstalled, but now I can't get Preview to load any files (it crashes). I know it probably has something to do with the external GPU I'm using (an AMD Radeon). Back when I first did this Hackintosh (in 2017), I had it working fine but I can't remember what kexts or configuration...

Hi all,
i managed to install Big Sur on my HYSTOU P05B-i7-8565U mini pc. The system is running ok, though a couple of issues remain:
- Max Graphics resolution is 2560x1440, although i get 3840x2160 under Linux.
- Also no Retina support
- HDMI does not work at all, black screen upon GUI start
- DP does work
- Shutdown does not work reliably. Crash and failure to power off
Most important for me would be full UHD w/ Retina
Issues are same under Catalina.
Strangely, MacOS reports Intel 3EA5...

Hello,
I'm thinking on building a desktop PC from an old motherboard from a MacBook (A1534). Something like this:
I would like to ask you, do you know which hardware is required for the motherboard to boot? Obviously a power source, memory, maybe the keyboard to trigger the startup. Do you think of anything else?
Has anyone tried this before?
Thanks in advance

Hi guys!
I'm very excited to be part of this forum.
I'm not really new in the hackintosh world as I previous (few years ago) tried to build an hackintosh. At this time, it was Snow Leopard and I think it was much more complicated than today!
I'm posting today because I'd like to build an hackintosh based on this components (I didn't buy any of them for now):
- Motherboard: Z490 (not exactly sure which one, maybe the Gigabyte Z490 Vision D because of the 2 thunderbold ports...

msi b450m mortar + ryzen 2600x (old platform)
to:
msi b550m mortar + ryzen 5800x (new platform)
alone with upgrading to macOS big sur.
Everything is working fine EXCEPT the bluetooth. I had a bcm943602 wifi+bluetooth card which works fine with my old build, but not working well with the new build. The wifi is ok, but when I connect with bluetooth devices, the connectivity is not performing well. like sounds is intermittent. etc.
I am using opencore...

Gigabyte z490i ITX / 10900K / Opencore 0.5.9 / Catalina 15.5.5 / Ncase M1
Hi All, I recently built my first OC hack on an Asus Strix z390 and 9900k which all went well... but then this week I was offered the chance to upgrade to a 10900k and z490 – I was a little apprehensive as I'm not that experienced, and wasn't sure I was ready to be an early adopter, but went ahead anyway!
This isn't a full guide, just a capture of the quirks I found when using this motherboard.
