ASUS K53SC - BIOS Version 221

Good evening to all. These days I tried several times to make my ASUS K53SC a Hackintosh without success. The USB flash drive is not detected by the system as bootable. I currently have no operating system installed on the laptop and I have no mac system from which I can create an installer. I would therefore like to start again from scratch to understand first if my laptop is compatible to create an hackintosh and in case which mac os system I can install. My only purpose is use Xcode to...

Thinkbook 14s as a hackintosh?

My 2016 MPB has died for the 4th time, and I'm considering buying a Lenovo to hackintosh.

Does anyone have any advice about the Thinkbook 14s? It seems like it should be just about perfect to hackintosh, but I could be missing something. As far as I can tell no one has posted anything about hackintoshing one yet.

The Thinkbook 14s has a I7-8565U and Radeon 540x graphics. I dont know about the wifi chipset though.

Any thoughts?

I've been in a dilemma the past few days and I'm taking it here to see if you all could help me solve this. This isn't necessarily related to Hackintosh as I haven't had issues on that front but this upgrade impacts future upgrading of my Hackintosh build. If this is irrelevant to this thread and not appropriate for this forum, please let me know and I'll take it down.

I currently have two computers, gaming, and a streaming pc. I had this "great" idea that I want to purchase the Corsair...

I have installed 10.14.6 in a dual boot machine and just have two niggling problems that I need some guidance with. I have 1 Windows SSD & 2 OSX SSD's which show up during boot.

1. Startup Clover Messages;
When the system boots it shows Welcome to Clover 4934 but now it also goes through testing hardware, scanning entries, etc. These messages show up under the Clover Welcome message. It started after I deselected Legacy under Scan in Clover. I did this to stop Clover showing Windows...

I've recently set this up and there are some learning curves with this build.

Still no power management, stuck at 3.5Ghz (can't turbo, or downclock in idle state) even though x86platform shim seems to load.

Can't run more than 1 dedicated GPU but at this point I no longer need to do so due to getting some active DP adapters finally.
(was trying M2000 + GTX 650 or M2000 + 8800GT or 8800GT + GTX650, in both a web driver and base driver config with no dice, best case I'd get display detection...

Recently, I tried to upgrade my hackintosh from yosemite to mavericks by migrating from chimera to clover; however this did not work correctly so I was forced to try a clean install.

I upgraded my current setup (very similar to this one) using this guide http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-builds/144533-beast-i7-3770k-z77-ds3h-intel-4000-a.html and attempted to follow this guide for installation...

Overview

One of the serious issues most users will face with 10.11.x (and later, including 10.12.x) is the new USB stack in OS X/macOS. It has a much heavier reliance on ACPI, and as a result is much more likely to expose bugs in your ACPI implementation of _PLD, and _UPC.

It is covered in detail in my guide: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-10-11-usb-changes-and-solutions.173616/

You should be familiar with the write-up above before attempting a custom SSDT...

Hi, i want to do a Hackintosh. I just read that my GTX 1060 is not supported by Catalina. Now, i want to know: if i buy a RX 580 for example, that's native supported by Catalina, can i use my Nvidia card for Windows, and my Radeon card for Mac. These are my specs:
MB: Z390-P
CPU: i5-9600k
GPU: GTX 1060 6GB Founders Edition
RAM: 8gb DDR4 3200mhz
I think that the cooler and the storage devices don't matter.

Hello Everyone... I'm having issues with my build this time, with Mojave, everything went fine and ok... my pc runs very smooth and performance is always excellent, I may say... I upgraded to Catalina 10.15 with no problems and the performance wasn't even changed... still good and I can use it for work... until my update on Catalina 10.15.1... there wasn't any trouble with my installation though... everything went fine except for that noticably very long waiting time... it took me almost 3...

There has been a lot written on this that I have read in the forum, but nothing has fixed it for me yet.....I have been trying to use my Sapphire Radeon Vega 64 Nitro+ in MacOS Mojave 10.14, and I get inevitable screen freezes. Here are the main “behaviors” I see:

1. Screen freezes (with a moveable mouse and ongoing audio playback if it was already playing prior to freezing) that end occasionally on their own and return to normal functioning, but usually end with either me powering down...

Background
In 2006 the Mac bug hit me when I bought a Mac Mini Solo for $350 and installed it in my car (immediately replaced the processor with a core duo, lol). In 2007, I decided to Hackintosh my Dell laptop to Jailbreak and unlock the original 8GB iPhone. Getting deployed I decided to buy a MacBook for my wife (long distance troubleshooting with my wife is not the business ). The rest is history. My 2012 MacBook Pro Retina is getting dated and it's time for me to part ways...
