Install Big Sur or Catalina on a i7 2600k Asus motherboard possible?

Hi!

I would like to use an old pc to install Big Sur for it to last a few more years, but how can I do it?

The parts are:

Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V PRO
CPU: I7 2600K sandy bridge
RAM: 16gb corsair ddr3 1333
GPU: MSI Radeon RX 560 4gb

At present I have Mojave with iMac 14,2.

I tried with clover but can't get Big Sur to install.

I have a working OpenCore 0.6.5 EFI after hours of work. I thought to share it.
Its ment for Z370 AORUS ULTRA GAMING WIFI, i7. I have removed the stock NVM bluetooth module and put a bluetooth card in it that is supported by apple natively.

Preparation:
- Download EFI Mount: https://github.com/corpnewt/MountEFI
- Download GenSMBIOS https://github.com/corpnewt/GenSMBIOS
- Download Big Sur from AppStore
- Download attached EFI, unzip it

I’ve built this system and have been using it as my daily driver for the last 2 months. This has been running 6 to 12 hours a day every day and has been completely stable. The system consists of:
  • Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Elite MB (non AC version)
  • i9-10850K

Hi all,

Anybody here has experience running Dante System (specifically, Dante Virtual Soundcard and Dante Controller) in a hackintosh, specifically an iMac Hackintosh?

I previously ran Dante system using 2 different hackintosh based on Thinkpad laptop, one a T440 Haswell and other one a T460s Skylake both with Intel LAN card without any problem. Running smoothly for audio recording multi track purpose.

Need help in mother board

Hello guys. I”m going to make a hackintosh similar to iMac 19,1. According to Mactracker i should use i5-9600k, radeon rx 580 with 8Gb. The main problem is motherboard. Wich chipset is native for this mac?
I want to use the minimum kexts. Soundcard will be external usb ( behringer, it works oob without any kexts). I’ll buy fenvy pcie for wi fi and Bluetooth . For ethernet i ‘ll buy apple adapter.
At this moment i have Radeon r9 290x. This videocard works oob without any kexts.

Catalina Hackintosh Build

Hello,

I have tried to create a hackintosh laptop using UniBeast, but I cannot get the macOS installer to load. I have successfully accessed clover, but when I try to load the installer from USB, the Apple logo comes up and the progress bar fills all the way up and then it just sits there. I am attaching verbose output as well.

I have done research and have tried various boot args, but it always still freezes. I am using a USB2 stick in a USB 2 port, and I believe I have set my BIOS...

GIGA Z370 AORUS Ultra Gaming-CF
Sapphire Rx580 Nitro+
G.SKILL 16 GB ( DDR4 3200MHz )
Samsung SM961 MZVPW256HEGL

My rx580 always in about 100W Power consumption(about 40W in win10). Vram is usage 95%+. It always reboot when GeekBench5 running Metal/openCL .(or open some big picture >20MB in preview, picture is .raw).
But in works fine while GPU in light use, Perfect work in software development.

I've been running macOS 11.1 under OC 0.6.3 for a while successfully. I have the boot GUI enabled, plus the startup chime is working.

When trying to update OC to the latest version (first to OC 0.6.4, then 0.6.5) I failed each attempt, continually getting an error while booting that said:

OCS: Failed to calculate size of true field containing <empty> as type integer, context <PlayChime>!
