[Success] Fresh install of 10.15.2 on Z170X-UD5 TH and RX 5700XT with OpenCore

I haven't been able to upgrade my OS from High Sierra due to Nvidia, so this christmas I bought myself a 5700 XT Nitro+ so I could upgrade. I decided to try Opencore (OC) as this seem to be the future for Hackintosh. I haven't tested everything yet, but a lot works OOB. I basically use this machine without having any issues now.

macOS Catalina 10.15.0 - USB Port-Limit Removal Patch

With the release of macOS Catalina 10.15.0 you'll probably need a port-limit removal patch to begin your USB configuration on a new build.

Here it is:

As you can see we only need two patches for Catalina as opposed to four, for Mojave.

Line 1 -

Name*: com.apple.iokit.IOUSBHostFamily
Find*: 83FB0F0F
Replace*: 83FB3F0F

Line 2 -

Name* com.apple.driver.usb.AppleUSBXHCI
Find*: 83F90F0F

[Solved] How to rebuild kextcache

After touching my Extensions folder I ended up screwing the kext cache.

While the system still boots, BUT all installer refuse to execute themselves, due to the failure of the kext rebuild phase.

Xcode won't finish the installation of needed added component.
Multibeast cannot be used.

Before I used to be able to run kextcache to rebuild it and solve issues.
Now (latest Sierra) it doesn't seem to be allowed.

What is the procedure now for kextcache troubleshooting?

Hi all,

after updating to Mojave with my trusted Gigabyte Z77 UP5TH (onboard Intel HD 4000) with NVIDIA GTX670, I found that Preview was no longer working. Tapping the space bar on any item on the desktop or in the finder would no longer yield the expected preview image, but only the spinning circle: Preview was stuck. So I dove deep on this forum, and found various solutions. If you, like me, cannot afford to waste days of figuring out how this works to find the right plugin etc...

All,

I've started work on a project to port the current-generation Intel WiFi drivers from Linux to OS X. Right now it's very, very early in a process that looks to be a very, very long one. I have a kext that identifies compatible hardware and loads and digests the matching firmware, but it doesn't yet do important things like, say, connect to a network.

Still, it's a start, and if anybody has a recent Intel WiFi card and wants to give it a spin and confirm whether it recognized the...

[Success] WORKING Intel Wifi Drivers for 7265AC on Catalina

Only tested on 7265AC, should also work on other intel cards but not tested yet. This driver currently ONLY works in 10.15.

First edit the Info.plist and add the ssid and password

Then load the kext using terminal (Dont install directly into L/E):

sudo chown -R root:wheel /tmp/*.kext
sudo kextload /tmp/*.kext

The driver is in early development stage and there are still bugs such as high packet loss.

I managed to install macOS Catalina 10.15.3 on Laptop/Tablet DeLL Venue 7139 i5 Core i5 4300Y (7130 series).

Hi there.

This is more or less my first post - so if I have something wrong (signature etc) let me know and I'll sort it asap :)

Could really do with some help. I've just 'upgraded' from an RX580 OC to a Sapphire Vega 64 Nitro+. Everything works but the performance isn't what it should be. I'm getting an OpenCL score on Geekbench of around 142 / 143k. I know is should be more like 200k. Also my BruceX (in FCPX) is about 21 seconds. Again around twice the time it should be taking.

Hi guys I'd like to install Mojave on my laptop.
It's a Lenovo Ideapad 300-15ISK.
First of all I don't have a mac so... how can I create a Unibeast usb without it? Can I do that only with a VM or exist another way?
I already know that during the installation mac os doesn't recognize my keyboard and trackpad, how can I fix it?
This is my configuration:

Intel i7 6500u
6Gb Ram
Intel Hd Graphics 520 + Radeon R5 M330(I suppose it will not work but I don't care)

I have a current PC build with the following:

Intel i7-3770k
Asus P8Z77-V LK
AMD Radeon RX 550

First off, are these components compatible?

Second, can I keep my current Windows 10 setup while running MacOS on a second SSD?

Any and all advice is welcome for this newcomer. Apologies in advance if this question has been asked/answered before.

Hey there
I installed high sierra on my pc dektop and everything worked fine except for one thing. when I enable the InjectNvidia option so the boot shows this error:

Hello, guys! I've decided to update my macOS Catalina 10.15.3 to 10.15.4 Beta 3 via System Update (because it fixes Plex, Netflix and other issues in Safari). After installation I got “The bless tool was unable to set the current boot disk” error message. System loads fine, but after installation I found additional boot "Install macOS from Macintosh HD - Data" entry in Clover (which i fixed by deleting install files on the drive left by installator).
