I'm running OSX El Capitain using an nVidia GeForce 660 GTX video card connected to a 40" Samsung UN40KU6270FXZC 4K television using HDMI.
For some reason, the system is thinking that the default resolution for this display is "120.5 inch at 7880x4050" which really looks awful. The correct default resolution for this display is 3840x2160.
Why is the display resolution incorrectly identified? Is there a way to correct this without wasting computing power with Scaling?
